I've put two offers up:
One for Icons for any fandom (or no fandom).
One for Fic for Merlin or Doctor Who (any Era).
Please check out all the offers up for grabs and help if you can. My own family was heavily effected by this storm so you may well be helping me and my family directly (or indirectly) if you do. Thanks so much!!

I haven't spoken to my step-brother since the storm, but he lives in Bergen County (Northern NJ where they had some of that bad flooding also). I'm sure his specific house was okay because he lives at the top of a hill, but I wonder how or if he's back to work yet. He's a professional truck driver who drives into NYC to pick up freight and drive it regionally. I can't imagine the nightmare of trying to get into NYC, forget about also getting places to deliver after that...
When I go to work tomorrow, I will have to see if we are doing any sort of charity stuff also. I work for the Evil Empire, otherwise known as Walmart, as an optician. Sometimes they do drives so that local stores can give away stuff to local residents also.
I stole my WTF from a moving gif. I don't remember where I swiped it from, but I posted it on my photobucket for you:

For all that people bitch about Walmart, I am grateful they exist because I wouldn't be able to afford my insulin if it weren't for them. They charge me less than half of what EVERY other pharmacy does and that includes Target. Also, I always get my glasses from them since they seem to be the only place that carries frames that flatter my mug.

As for Walmart, it sort of depends on the store. I've worked for them for over 13 years now (started out part time when my kids were babies). I have had relatively good luck with them, but I would bet not everyone has had that experience. Their health insurance sucks but most insurances do these days. Walmart has so many employees that none of the insurance companies would insure us all, so Walmart literally had to create their own.
But they have decent benefits otherwise. They were really great about me taking time off when Don was sick last year. I also qualified for a hardship grant during that time that helped pay a few bills. Everyone I work with in the optical shop is great, so it's usually fun going to work.
