I just had the most horrible thought!

Something someone wrote in a video summary brought a thought to my head that made me sick to my stomach. (Well, I already was sick to my stomach, have been all day, this just made it worse.)

When interviewed, the J's have kind of blown off the magical reveal. That irritated quite a few of us fans. They've also now revealed that they are going to do a pretty big jump in time between Series/Season 4 and 5 (if Mordred's apparent age is any indication it's going to be a hell of a leap forward).

What if those muthafucka's do the magical reveal off-screen sometime in the years between Season 4 & 5? What if we NEVER get to see it at all?

*screeches and tears out a few handfuls of hair just thinking about it*

They CAN'T do that to us...can they?

Not a nice thought at 3:30am.

I've had that same thought. And it sucks and I hope so hard that it doesn't happen cause we all know the reveal is going to be messy and angsty and I need to see it.

Nope nope nope. I definitely do NOT trust the writers but I will lose my last hold on sanity if this were to happen. I honestly don't think it will-- they will save it until the bitter end. The reason they've held out this long is because they think this premise is still "working" and they are exploiting the heck out of it. Merlin is not a drama but an episodic tv show and we demanding fangirls are not necessarily their target audience. That's just my take.

That said, I'm not betting the reveal will be the way I want it to be :(

That would be awful. But I get the feeling they're really against a magic reveal, at least until the end. *hands you peppermint tea for tummy* OTOH, I'd be curious how they'd handle Arthur's feelings about Merlin's magic after a reveal. Would he let Merlin use it to help him? Would he be ordering Merlin about and yelling at him for not using it when Arthur thought he should?

I'm still crossing my fingers for an early reveal so we can have a bunch of episodes dealing with the fall-out. I want all the angst to happen onscreen!

I'm a little miffed about the apparent huge time leap, but on the other hand, I think if Merlin revealed his magic so close after Arthur being betrayed by everyone else near to him - Morgana, Agravaine, Gwen (even though that wasn't her fault) - I don't think Arthur would react so well and act rashly before thinking it through. But then again, the longer it drags out, I think there's going to be more hurt feelings when it is revealed.

I am pretty sure if we even get a reveal it won't be what we want. On the other hand, they did do us slash-lovers the courtesy of skipping the wedding! How badly disappointed must the Arwen folk have been?

That said, I put nothing past these writers anymore.

I'd so love to see an Arthur who knows about the magic for those same reasons! After a bit of angst of course, I mean, it's now been 6 or so years Merlin's been keeping this secret? That's gotta at least hurt Arthur even if it doesn't send him into a towering rage.

Yeah, the narcotics make me pretty sick. I always take them with food but they still wind up making my tummy very sensitive. Just one of the reasons I hate them. I need them right now but I still hate them.

And you are so right about the show. I mean, they really don't paint Arthur in a very good light as far as brains go. Heart, courage, faithfulness, martial skill, compassion (these days), yes he has all of these but they have kind of gone with the dumb blond stereotype (which drives me nuts cuz I am blond by nature). I mean, yes, Merlin is supposed to be the real hero of the show (thus it's called the Adventures of Merlin) but really, do they have to make Arthur so dense?
