To tell the truth, I finished mine very late last year (as in Alby and I were still tweaking the story an hour before posting!) but I am going to give it another go this year. I had so much fun doing it!
Hopefully my health will hold up better this time around :D
Seriously, it was so much fun (despite the frustrations I encountered). The community is so very very supportive. Best bunch of people you will ever encounter!
Oh yes, I know they are lovely! I did write last year and the experience was good. I just don't know if I have a suitable bunny... I'll have to think on it!
Okay then :) I'll be your cheerleader if you'll be mine? Might need that for merlinreversebb also cos it is slow going at the computer due to health issues and it seems you're having the same troubles too. We're definitely a pair. But we're enthusiastic! :D
Yeah, my RBB is coming slow. My frickin shoulder issues and my fibromyalgia are really dogging me but I adore my prompt and I am determined to get it done!
Enthusiasm will see us through. I got me through PL last year!!
I met some of my absolute best fandom friends because of PL, and I also achieved some of my best writing (I think). This is making it hard to say "no" this year. it is such a good experience overall (except for the random hysterics and last minute mental breakdowns) *RESISTS* EEK. ok. *deep breath* I think the desire is gone...?
it's just that...I know I am pretty much completely moved on from Merlin fandom, and (intellectually) I don't think I have enough interest in the fandom to write a 30k story :/ Still. I know I will always think fondly of this fest, and the overall experience. *pokes around looking for a TW BB* :D
I'm still fully immersed. I have the desire, it's a matter of having the stamina to do it. My health is still pretty shoddy but I really want to go for this.
Hopefully I will manage a shorter story than last year. 100k was one hell of a leap when the longest thing I'd written before that was only 12k. I did just manage to write a 47k fic for merlin holidays in only 4 weeks so...that bodes well, I think!
I have a plot bunny that I came up with a few weeks ago that I may go with. I also have the story I intended to write for last year's PL but didn't because my entry for the dark_fest grew way beyond my ability to finish it for that fest and so became my PL Big Bang instead.
One would be an alternate canon fic and the other is a modern au. I am leaning more toward the new bunny (canon au) right now.
aww *pets* I'm sorry you are having health issues. :(
I think you can do it though! if you start now that's 8(ish) months to work? I know you can do it! and hey, people will start moving back into PL chat soon too...and that could help?

I'm excited for this one, even if I'm sad it is the last one.

best cheerleader ever. I seriously don't think I could have finished last year if it weren't for you.

I'll be able to give it seven months actually. I'm also doing the Reverse BB so January is taken ;-)
Still, that should be more than enough time as long as I don't dawdle!

I'm brainstorming and if I can come up with something I think will stretch that far then I may go for it!
